Itaomacip
[Bound-board boat]

itaomacip [Bound-board boat]

A boat made of bound boards. It is a craft used for fishing at sea and trade, with side boards attached to a dug-out boat, making the walls higher.
The Ainu were frequent traders. They set off to Honshu and China carrying animal skins, seafood, eagle feathers, attus (tree bark cloth), and other items, and traded these for goods such as rice, liquor, metal goods, cotton, silk fabric, lacquerware, tobacco, glass beads, and such.
